Praise, An Act of Your Will

Praise is an act of your will.  Let me show you what I mean.  At sports games be it football, soccer, basketball, or baseball, to name a few, no one forces the fans to shout, holler, or chat for their teams. For the love of their teams, fans cheer and cheer for them. In other words, they are praising their teams as act of their own will.

Now let's take a look at what God's Word say about praise.

Psalm 91:1 says, "It is a good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing his praises to Thy name, O Most High."

Psalm 135:1-2 says, "Praise the Lord! Praise the name of the Lord; Praise Him, O servants of the Lord. You who stand in the house of the Lord, In the courts of the house of our God! Praise the Lord for te Lord is good; Sing praises to His name, for it is lovely."

Psalm 66: 1-3 says, "Shout joyfully to God, all the earth. Sing the glory of His name; Make His praise glorious. Say to God, How awesome are Thy works!"

Psalm 47:2 says,  "O' clap your hands, all peoples. Shout to God with the voice of joy."

Psalm 106:1 says, "Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting."

When you think about the goodness of God and all that He has done and will do, we should be more than glad to give Him praise from our mouths and our voice.  Psalm 121 says that the Lord is our helper and keeper; He protects us from all evil; He will guard our going out and coming in from this time and forever; and much more.

What sports team will or has done any of these things for you or me?  None.  Yet, people "praise" their teams.

From this day forward, make a decision to give God praise each and everyday.  He is worthy of our praise and He inhabits the praises of His people.

Jesus, The Word of God

For those of us who may not know or haven’t really thought about it, Jesus is the Word of God.  John 1:1-3 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.”   Revelation 19:13 says, “And He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood; and His name is called The Word of God.”

Think about this for a moment.  The Word of God is Jesus and Jesus is the Word of God.  This is a profound and serious truth.  As Christians, we can call on the name of Jesus and all will be OK.  When we speak God’s Word we are speaking Jesus who has all power to create things into being.  When you say Jesus I need healing, Jesus, the Word of God that created all into being, says you are healed by my stripes (Isaiah 53:5).  When you say Jesus I need help paying my bills this month, Jesus, the Word of God what created all into being, says that “God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:19)

The Word of God is true.  The Word of God is here to help you, to comfort you; to provide for you; to watch over you; to bless you; to heal you; to cloth and feed you; to give you favor; to answer your every pray; and so much more.

Spend time with Jesus by spending time studying His Words. Time with the Word of God is time with Jesus and the more time spent with Him the more you will get to know Him.

Activate Your Healing Now!

Before you can use a new credit card, you must 1st activate the card.  You must contact the bank, enter some key data about yourself and then you hear that voice saying, "your card has been activated".  Just like that new credit card, healing in your body must be activated. You have do something.  So must you do?  I'm glad you asked.

First, you must ask God to heal you.  How is this done?  It is done by searching the Bible for healing scriptures or stories of how Jesus healed.  Once you have found the scripture(s),  ask God to heal you based on the scripture that you found.  Say something like,  "God, I see in your Word that Jesus healed all of those who were oppressed by the devil (Acts 10:38); or Jesus healed every sickness and  every disease (Matt, 9:35). Therefore, Lord I am standing on this/these scripture(s) for my healing and I thank you for it right now."

Secondly, now that you have asked God for your healing and are standing on the Word of God for healing, believe right then and now that you receive healing in the name of Jesus.  No matter what is being said to you by doctors, family members, or how you feel, continue to believe God for your healing and thank Him,

Finally, continue to confess your healing.  Say something like, "By the stripes of Jesus I am healed (1 Peter 2:24); or The power of the Lord is present to heal me (Luke 5:17)."  Keep God's Words of healing in your mouth.  According to Kenneth Hagin, Jr., "confession is how to receive what God has promised".  So don't stop.

Activate your healing now in the name of Jesus, your healer and redeemer.

Meditate on God's Word - Part 1

God has given us the perfect plan to keep us safe, free from harm, prosperous, increasing in growth and bearing much fruit (fruit meaning positive results).  If only we will heed to His plan.

Psalm 1:1-3 says “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers. But his delight is in the Law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night and he will be like a tree that is firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, And its leaf does not wither; and whatever he does, he prospers.”

Let’s break it down:  Blessed means empowered to prosper.  So if you want to be empowered to prosper stay away from the wicked people.  Do not stand with them.  Do not do what they do.  Do not sit with those who mock God.  Stay away from all evil if you want to be a blessed man (person).

Let’s break it down: Delight yourself in the Words of God.  Study God’s Word with joy.  Make it a daily habit to study God’s Word, spend time (quality time).   Meditate on God’s Word day and night.  Think about it during the day.  Think about it during the night.  Say it out lout.  Say it to yourself.  Ponder the Word of God.  When you do this, you are renewing your mind with the Word of God, then it will take root in your spirit man and your faith will grow.

Let’s break it down:  As a result of spending time in God’s Word, your faith will grow and you become immovable like a tree.  You will know and know that God’s Word is true and that His Word will produce good fruit (results) in your life that will not wither away.  And whatever you do or undertake, you will prosper in.

You have to have faith in the Word of God and Faith Comes by Hearing – Hearing the Word of God.

Alone Time

Do you ever think of how much alone time you have?  What do I mean alone time?  I’m talking about time when you are by yourself.  Just the other day, I had just finished my workout and as I looked around the gym, most people were paired with someone else.  I went to the market to buy groceries and again I noticed that most people were paired with someone.  I began to think to myself how many times I find myself alone.   I go to church alone.  I workout alone.  I shop alone. I study the Word of God alone.  I go to the doctor alone.  Alone!   Alone!

As I thought more about how much time I spend alone, the Spirit of God reminded me that I am never alone.  God said that he will never leave us.  Plus, He sent the Holy Spirit to live in us. Some of you may say, sure, but you can’t physically touch God, or how do I know that He is there.  First and foremost, you have to have faith in what God said.  So you must believe in God.  For example, let’s say you are standing and want to sit down.  You see a chair in the room.  You walk up to the chair, turn your back side to the chair and proceed to bend your legs and place yourself on the chair.  You have faith in the chair meaning that you believe that the chair is able to withhold your weight.  If you did not have faith in the chair, you would not sit on it.

Well, belief in God is the same way.  You have to believe in your heart that He is with you and He is there for you.  You must study the Word of God to increase your faith and to renew your mind.  Ask God to help you with your faith.  As you begin to spend more time with God, He becomes more real to you.  He will begin to speak to you (in your spirit).  As you begin to keep His Word, God will reveal himself to you more, and you will realize that you are never alone.

While Outside

As I sit in a special corner of my house, I have an amazing view of outside.  Not only is this my sit corner, but it also serves as my write...
