I can't stress enough the importance of speaking God's Word. Through out the Bible we are consistently instructed to keep God's Word in our heart. to mediate on it day and night (Joshua. 1:8) and to bind His Word around our neck. To rightly divide the word of truth, turn to Proverbs 4:20-22 and it reads, "My son give attention to my words. Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your sight. Keep them in the midst of your heart. For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their whole body." As you can see, we are instructed to pay attention to God's Words, to listen intently to God's Word, to keep God's Word in our heart (spirit man) and for the people who will do these things concerning God's Word, they will find life and health to their whole body.
Now let's take a look at Proverbs 21:23, which says, "He who guards his mouth and his tongue, guards his soul from trouble." One might ask the question, so how does one guard his mouth? The answer can be found in Proverbs 22:17-19, "Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise, And apply your mind to knowledge; For it will be pleasant if you keep them within you. That they may be ready on your lips. So that your trust may be in the Lord." According to this scripture, it is our responsibility to guard our mouth and we do this, again, by hearing God's Word, by applying our mind to the Word of God - then it will be pleasant within us (our spirit man) and our lips are readied to release the Word of God, thus resulting in us trusting God for His Word.
A mouthful of God's Words can do marvelous things. Give it a try. Open up your mouth and Speak God's Word! (Scriptures taken from American Standard Version)
Be Blessed!
