When You Pray - Believe

How many times have you heard, when you pray- believe?  I don't know about you, but I've heard it hundreds of times.  When you Pray- Believe. So what does this really mean in plain everyday language?  One may ask, how can I believe something that I do not see or how can I believe when the report says otherwise?

Sisters and brothers of God, when you pray believe means first to pray the Word of God.  Praying the Word of God is simply saying what God has already said and promised; promised through Christ Jesus.  Jesus was born (the Word became flesh and died a physical death) to fulfill God's Word in and on the earth.  When Jesus was resurrected, all power and authority was given to him.  1st Corinthians 20 says,  "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are Yes in Christ."

Now let's look a little deeper here.  Jesus, the Son of God came to the earth to complete God's plan of providing a way back to him.  Jesus was killed (He laid down his life) and rose with all the power and authority of God; and when you pray (say what God has already said about your situation), the answer is Yes delivered to you, given to you by and through Christ Jesus.

The 2nd thing you must do when you pray is Believe.  You must, not should, but must believe. Unbelief or disbelief will stop the blessing of God.  Christ Jesus cannot answer your prayer if you do not believe in him for the "yes" answer.  What is belief?  Belief is accepting in you heart and mind that something is real and will happen no matter what; no matter what others are saying; no matter what the doctor's report said.  A no matter what is what ever is going against the Word of God.  So no matter what it is, if it goes against the Word of God, do not accept or believe it, BUT BELIEVE THE WORD OF GOD.  (This is Faith in action.)

Also, remember you must know what God's Word says about your circumstance.  Therefore, you must seek His Word diligently, so you can pray his Word over your problem or issue and by doing so Jesus can give you the "yes" answer.

Be Blessed, seek God's Word daily, Pray and Believe.

God's Plan For You

God said in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  Read this passage of scripture again.  Write it on a post it note and place it on your closet door.  Write it on an index card or a piece of paper and tape it all over your house. Whatever part of your house that you frequent often, place this scripture there so it can get into your spirit and produce the promises of God.

My beloved friends, the words in Jeremiah. 29:11 are powerful and have a lot of "good stuff" in it. First, we see that God has plans for you that only He knows.  His plans for you are mighty and are for you.  God plans are to prosper you, to prosper you in every area of your life; to prosper you in your body (health); to prosper you in your soul (mind); to prosper you in your finance (money); to prosper you in workplace, in relationships, in your family, in your daily activities - and the list goes on.

Secondly, we see that it is not God's plan to harm you.  All harm no matter what type of harm comes from the devil.  Remember, he (the devil) comes to kill, steal and to destroy and Jesus came to give you life abundantly.  Also, there is no need to define harm because we all agree on what harm is. But God said in Jeremiah 29:11 "His plans are not to harm us".  So don't let anyone tell you that God caused harm on your life or family members.  Get the Word of God in your spirit so when untruths about God come your way, you can cast them down with the Word of God.

Finally, we see that it is God's plan to give you hope and a future.  Isn't this awesome?  Our God, God plan is to give us hope and a future.  How do we get hope?  We get hope from the word of God.  How do we know our future?  We know through the word of God.  Let me give you an example.  If you've been diagnosed with a disease, your hope says that "My God is the Lord who heals me" (Exodus 15:26); or if you want a New Testament scripture for healing 1st Peter 2:24 says, "By the stripes of Jesus, I am healed".   In both scriptural texts, healing is the hope and sure and notice both speak in present tense, meaning right now, today!

My beloved friends, through the word of God all of our hope and future are there. God's inspired Words are in a book called the Bible.  God's Word have been preserved for those who love him and for those who will believe and act on his Word.  I encourage you to study the Word of God daily, to mediate on it, to confess it with your mouth and to never ever let it depart from you and then you will have good success and health to your whole body (Joshua 1:8 and Proverbs 4:20-22).

BE BLESSED AND THANKFUL!

God - A Friend for Life!

Have you prayed today?  Have you talked with God today? Are you spending time with God?  I ask these questions because I want to share what some may call a mystery. You see talking to God or praying to God is the same as talking with your best friend for life.   Think about Adam in the Garden of Eden.  The scripture tells us that God and Adam walked in the garden together.  Can you imagine that- walking with God?  Now if they were walking, they were probably talking. Adam and God shared communication regularly, just like best friends do.  How do I know this?  Well when Adam ate of the forbidden fruit, God called out to him, asking him where he was.  God was use to being with Adam everyday; so the day He could not find him, He called out for him.

Let's take a look at Moses. Moses talked to God so much his face shone with the glory of God and he had to cover his face when talking to regular people.  During those conversations with God, Moses was given divine directions on how to accomplish what God had called him to accomplish. Abraham, the father of many nations, talked with God.  God told Abraham that He (God) was going to have a seed (son) and through that seed all the nations of the earth will inherit the blessing.

As I stated before talking with God is like talking to your best friend for life.  He is the way.  He gave and gives you life.  He is the same today as yesterday. He desires your conversation.  He instructed us to ask him, to seek him. and to let your requests be known to him.  He said in Jeremiah 33:3, "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know."  In this scripture focus on the words "call" and "tell".  These are actions verbs, meaning someone has to do something.  We are to open up our mouths and "CALL" to God and  He will "TELL" us unsearchable things.

Need I say more?  Children of God I urge you to make a wise decision to spend time with God everyday through prayer, conversation and worship.

BE BLESSED as you do!

God said, " I AM THAT I AM"

For most people, eventually a life changing event will occur.  At that moment and time how one decides to deal with the situation could yield some powerful truths about God or create an attitude of none belief.

With this being said, the heart of this blog is for you to get a better understanding of who God is. In Exodus Chapter 3:13, Moses was being instructed by God to deliver the Israelites out of Egypt.  During the conversation with God,  Moses gave God a what if situation when he said, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'the God of your fathers have sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' Then what shall I tell them?"   In verse 14, God said to Moses, "I AM THAT I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.' "  In verse 15 God also said, "....This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation."

Wow! Let's stop right here! Do you see the power in God's words to Moses?  God told Moses that he is "I AM THAT I AM."  I AM is present tense!  I AM is now!  I AM is forever.  In other words, GOD IS NOW! GOD IS PRESENT TENSE! GOD IS FOREVER AND GOD IS FOR ALL GENERATIONS.

Now turn to John 1:1 which says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."   In other words, I AM THAT I AM is also saying I AM MY WORD AND MY WORD IS WHO I AM, which is GOD.  So how does this revelation applies to you and me?  I'm glad you thought this question.

Let's say that you need healing in your body and through your everyday study of the Word of God, you see in 1st Peter 2:24 that "by his stripes I am healed" or in Luke 5:17 that "The power of the Lord is present to heal me."   Remember in John 1:1, God is his Word and in Exodus, God is present tense (today or now). Therefore, God's promise of healing is now, present tense in your body today.  GOD IS SAYING I AM HEALING TODAY.

God's Word is true.  God's Word is forever.  God's Word is powerful.  God sent his Word into the earth as a man named Jesus.  When you believe in God's Word and speak God's Word, I AM THAT I AM changes things.  I AM HEALING changes sickness to health.  I AM JOY changes sadness to joy.  I AM LIFE changes death to eternal life and the list goes on.  Your job is to study the Word of God so when an I AM situation comes your way, you will know where to go and what to say so I AM (GOD) can take care of it.

Be Blessed!

Words to Live By

I want to share with you some dynamic truths about God's Word and if you grab a hold of these truths by applying them everyday, on a regular basis, you will be amazed at how your life will change.

Here we go!

For long life read and study the following scriptures: (All scriptures were taken from the NIV)
Psalm 34:12  "Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days; keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies."
Psalm 128:5-6 "May the Lord bless you from Zion all the days of your life; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem and may you live to see your children's children."
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future."
Proverbs 3:1-2 "My son do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity."
Proverbs 4:10 "Listen, my son, accept what I say and the years of your life will be many."

So you can see that it is God's desire for you to have a long life and you can also see that you have a responsibility.  You have keep your tongue from evil, in other words stop saying evil things and telling lies; and when you do, repent and keep it going.  It takes a while to break old habits, but if you mediate on God's promises of long life, your spirit will begin to be quicken when you fall short and say something evil.   Proverbs 3:1-2 tells us not to forget his teaching and to keep them in your heart, your spirit man.  Again, daily meditation on the Word of God comes into play here as well.  The more you study or read your Bible, the more your spirit becomes alive to God's Word and when you fall short, the Holy Spirit will let you know that you have fallen short of God's command.  Ask for forgiveness and keep it going.

I think I've said enough for now, so do study these scriptures, begin to stand on them, begin to apply them and wait eagerly for God's awesome love and power move in your life.

Praise the Lord!

To Know the Word of God - Part 2

It's 2013-Happy New Year.  With that being said, let me ask you a couple of questions for the New Year.  What are you going to do differently this year in regards to the Word of God?  In other words, how much time will you spend in the Word of God?  How important is it for you to be successful, to be delivered, to be happy, to be set free, to receive the many promises of God?  Before you answer these questions, please give some serious thought to your answer.  Take a few days, if needed, to really reflect on your motives, your desires and needs. Ask yourself, if your need is large enough or real to move you to action.  What action?  I am talking about action to spend time in the Word of God so that you will come to know the Word of God; and by knowing, you can receive the many promises of God. The Bible is a book of promises to God's children. As a matter of fact, in  2nd Cor. 1:20,  Paul said, "For no matter how many promises God has made, they are Yes in Christ."

WOW!  Do you see this?  The promises that God has made, which are many, are YES in Christ.  But how does one go about knowing them? How does one activate the promises of God?  The answer is to spend time in the Word of God. You have an active part to play. You got to do something that only you can do. Your action is to study His Word; to meditate on His Word; to believe His Word and to speak His Word. God's Word coming out of your mouth set things in motion.  Make a quality decision to spend time each day in the Word of God.  Start out small, such as ten minutes a day.  Commit and be faithful to the ten minutes and by doing so your spirit will be renewed and yearn for more.

In 2013 - Get into the Know of the Word of God!  It is time!
