To Know the Word of God - Part 1

To get God's Word working in your life, you have to believe, study it and speak it.  You've got to know what His Word says.  To know the Word of God, you have to open up your bible and READ it.  Make reading God's Word one of your daily habits.  To gain a better understanding of God's Word, purchase a good study bible.  Before you begin to read your bible, ask God to reveal to you knowledge of his Word, and then READ with expectancy.  Grab a pencil, highlighter or yellow marker, a notebook, sticky notes and begin your study.

As you read, record questions or comments that drop in your spirit in your notebook.  If a particular scripture stands out, highlight it, write it on the sticky note and post it someplace in your home where you will see it everyday.  Throughout the day, think about those scriptures that were embedded in your mind.  Before you go to bed at night, review in your mind what you read, look at your sticky note and ponder on the word of God.  When these actions are done with consistency, God's Word will transform your spirit and mind.  This is only the beginning, and there is much more to come in the Word of God .

Be Blessed!

Stand Like Crazy

We have all heard this saying, "when life throws you lemons, make lemonade."  And how does one make lemonade?  1st you have to buy the lemons, wash them off, squeeze them or roll them until they are tender, grab a knife and cut them in half, squeeze them over a large container to get the juice out of them, add sugar, water and stir like crazy.  WOO-LA, you got yourself some lemonade.  In this example, you have to work the lemons to get to the juice to get to your desired results-lemonade.

Well the word of God is like the process of making lemonade.  When life throws you trouble, seek God's Word.  1st you got to go to the Bible, find the scripture for your trouble, read, study and meditate on Word of God, pray earnestly about your trouble and thank God for answered prayers, add faith to your prayer, add worship, patience and praise to your faith, and STAND LIKE CRAZY. Stand therefore until you get what you are believing God for.  SO STAND LIKE CRAZY with continued praise and worship in faith until you have a WOO-LA moment - your results of your prayer.

A Better Life - Seek Him First

God is concerned about every issue of your life.  He is concerned about your finances, health, family, shelter and needs, relationships, and much more. God tells us to "seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and these things (the things that we need that pertains to life) shall be given unto you".  Seeking God's kingdom means to study, to research, and to consult.  We study the kingdom of God when we study His Word; or better yet, when we total submerge ourselves into His Word on a daily-regular basis.  We research the Word of God when we read and cross reference His Word; when we look to other resources to help us under His Word.  We consult the Word of God when we ask for his guidance, when we seek His Word that pertains to our concern; when we apply His Word to our circumstance.  When you decide to seek His kingdom and actually do it, you have move yourself to another place, a place where He can pour you out a blessing.

Be blessed in all that you do for the Lord.

For Your Benefit - Study the Word of God

Studying the Word of God has so many benefits. The more you study the more you become familiar with what God's promises are for you. When you know what God's promises are, you can not be deceived or fooled by the enemy, trouble, problems  - cause you know what God said.  Time spent with God and in His word is very very important.  God promises to protect us, to deliver us from evil, to heal our bodies, to bless, to keep us, to prosper us, to watch over over and to hear our prayers.(The list of benefits goes on.)  But if you never spend time in the Word of God, how would you know?  Sure, you can read what others are saying, like in this blog, but it is best and a great benefit for you to know for yourself.  I encourage you to spend time.  Get to know God and as you do you will grow in the Lord like never before and see His miracle working power in your life.

Be blessed in all that you do.

The Power of Confession

To make a confession is to declare a thing, or to make a statement. When you confess the Word of God, it causes your spirit to quicken, to come alive in His presence.  When you confess the Word of God, it causes the angels to respond. Scripture tells us that angels, who are ministering spirits, are waiting on us to command them to do something on our behalf.  Confessing what God said on any situation, with belief, will cause that situation or thing to comply with the Word of God confessed out of your mouth.

The more you confess the Word of God, the more your faith and spirit grow.  It’s like the seed planted.  You put the seed in the ground, you do not see evidence of a crop, but you have faith in the seed to break through the earth and grow and produce.  You water the seed, fertilize the seed, you may even protect the seed from harsh elements, like the weather.   You have complete confidence in that seed  -knowing that if you do the maintenance on the seed, it will produce a harvest.  Well confession is the same way.  You confess the Word of God.  You spend time meditating on your confession, the Word of God.  You study the Word of God concerning your confession. Your spirit is building with anticipation knowing that you will see the glory of God, that is, the answers to your confession in the physical.

Confession of the Word of God is true and you can have confidence that it will produce.  Just do it, believe and expect it.

Be blessed.

God Hears

The Lord God hears our prayers.  When you reach out to him, he is there to hear your cry.  Don’t be afraid or a shame to cry out to the Lord.  Life happens to us all and when it does, remember you have a father, God, who is there to hear your prayer and help you in the time of need.  It is OK to extend your hands, to weep, to cry out to the Lord.
Study the scriptures below.  Meditate on them and if you have to,  pray them when you need God’s help.

Psalm 30:2 “O Lord my God, I called to you for help and you healed me.”
Psalm 28:6   “Praise be to the Lord, for he has heard my cry for mercy.”
Psalm 20:1 “May the Lord answer you when you are in distress, may the God of Jacob protect you.”
Psalm 3:4 “To the Lord I cry aloud and he answers me from his holy hill.”
Psalm 5:2-3 “Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.”
Psalm 4:3 “Knowing that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself; the Lord will hear when I call to him.”

Finally read Psalm 20:6 “Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand.”

Who is his anointed?  We are when you receive Jesus as your Lord and savior.
What is the saving power of his right hand?  Jesus Christ, now seated at his right side, is the saving power of his right hand.  Praise God.

Time With God

When you decide to spend time in God's Word, you will come to a new place of understanding.  You will experience so much truth, understanding and knowledge.  God will begin to reveal things to you.  He will begin to talk to you more in the spirit.  The Holy Spirit will bring the Word of God to your mind often.  You will experience wonders, miracles and true fellowship with God.  In reality, God's Word is indeed the fountain of life and the way I like to say is the "Instructions of Life".   The Word of God is full of life. It teaches and guides us on how to live.  It clearly defines the blessings of living a Godly life. If you want positive change that lasts, decide today to spend time in God's Word.  Get a good study Bible. I have three, the Disciples Study Bible, the Amplified Bible and the Ryrie Bible.  Make a decision to study the word both day and night and expect success.  Be blessed in all that your do.

A Better Life - Seek the Kingdom

God is concerned about every area of your life.  He is concerned about your health, finances, family, shelter and needs, relationships and much more. The Word of God tells us to "seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and then these things (things that pertains to life) shall be added to you". To seek the kingdom of God means to study, research and consult the Word of God.  When you seek the Word of God, you study the word or better yet, you totally submerge yourself in His Word on a regular-daily basis.  When you research the Word of God, you read it with the intent of understanding.  You read His Word, meditate on it, you look up words to understand the true meaning; you cross reference other materials to help you understand the true meaning and by all means- you pray for understanding.  When you consult the Word of God, you go to His Word for everything. You read it, learn it, declare it and apply it to your circumstance.  You stand on the Word like never before. You believe the Word like never before and know that your circumstances will be taken care of.

Be Blessed in all that you do.

Do Not Worry

For those of you who do not know, worry is not an act of faith.  Worry will choke God’s word.  Worry will cause your body to be stricken with stress which could lead to disease and even death. Again, worry is not an act of faith and God tells us to not worry.   We are instructed in Psalm 55:22 to “cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; and never let the righteous fall”.  Casting your care means to take it to the Lord in pray asking him to take care of it and when you are finished praying, do not worry about it again.  At this point, you should praise God for answered prayers.  How do we know this?  Well according to Matthews 7:7-8 Jesus said, “Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be open.”

WOW!  How awesome is the Word of God?   WOW! What a revelation?  And all we have to do is to love and forgive, believe and have faith, cast your care, praise and thank God for answered prayers and see the results of his love and mercy.  WOW! Amen!

Living a Life of Faith

Living a life of faith is more than lip service.   In other words,  it is more than saying the words with no belief.  How many of you have said the right words, but had little or no belief in what you were saying?Being honest, I know I have. Living a life of faith takes a sincere and true belief in what God has said or revealed to you about your circumstance. Living a life requires you to make some decisions.  You must decide in your mind and spirit, to believe God's Word.  You must make your body and brain (mind) line up with the Word of God, which is what your faith is based on.  You must learn to trust God and expect to receive the blessings of God.  Living a life of faith is a way of life; it is a daily regiment of God's Word,  Living a life of faith is seeking God for help, for guidance or directions, for mercy, for grace and for answers to everyday issues or concerns. Living a life of faith is standing on the promises of God.

Faith In God's Word

How can a person have faith in God's Word?  God has given each of us a measure of faith. We are to build our faith by hearing the word of God.  We hear the word of God by studying the bible, praying, reading books written by men and women of God; by listening to teachings or sermons of the word of God, and through song.  As you hear God's word each and every day, your faith begins to grow or increase.  You begin to get a better understanding of God's word. Your mind becomes filled with the knowledge of God's word as it relates to different circumstances. You begin to exercise your faith by saying, declaring or praying God's word over your circumstance or situation. When your prayers are answered, your faith increases that much more and you become more confident in the God's word.  Make a decision today to become a doer of faith, a student of faith, a faith talking person, in other words, a living walking testimony of God's word, through faith.
